　　Many employees may work at home with the modern technology. Some people claim that it can benefit only the workers, not the employers. Do you agree or disagree?

　　It is widely acknowledged that computer technology provides people with more efficient way to complete their assignments. Once people are required to search for wanted information, they can refer to materials only by clicking on the mouse and typing on the keyboard. By contrast, going to libraries and reading books are time and money-consuming. People have to look for the information through a complicated process.

　　There is no denying that the advent of the computer and the Internet has made it possible for people to access information conveniently at home and in the office. In comparison the construction and maintenance of the library need to cost more money and the storage of paper books means that a large quantity of wood resources would be consumed for paper making, which may have adverse impacts on the environment.

　　However，we cannot deny the importance of the existing of libraries. The library is an ideal place for people to enjoy reading, acquire knowledge and participate in cultural activities.The atmosphere of the library encourages people to read and the experience of sitting in the library is different from browsing web pages at home.

　　1、News has a remarkable influence on people’s opinions and ideas. Do you think it is a positive or negative change?

　　Exposure to coverage of crime can lead to the fear of crime. The representation of crime in the media reminds people that dangers can strike at any time or location while life is tenuous. They are preoccupied with the idea that they are at a higher risk of victimisation. This has an adverse impact on their quality of life.

　　Extensive media coverage of crime can cause a sharp rise in crimes.

　　Viewers of violent crime, especially young viewers, are particularly likely to imitate offensive behaviours, in the mistaken belief that these offences do not have serious effects. Even worse, many young viewers even perceive criminals as idols or role models and adopt violent means to settle their conflicts with other people. Regulators should therefore impose restrictions on televised violence and keep crime coverage in check.
