Describe a law on environmental protection

You should say:

• What it is
• How you first learnt about it
• Who benefits from it
• And explain how you feel about it

  • Air

  • Water

  • Land

  • Animals & Plants

Popularity/ history/ country/ lawmaker/ how you know about it/ regulations/ punishment/ when/ where/ who/ why etc.

01

What it is

Example one:History+where

Well, actually I am not really familiar with the law, so it is a little bit of a tricky topic for me to answer but a law that comes to mind is about firework prohibition. It was implemented 实施 about a decade ago in China, but two years ago, there were some changes. According to what I know, some places, like rural areas,  are still allowed to set off fireworks 放烟花.

Example two:Popularity

A law that comes to mind is the order of waste classification. This law was first introduced in Shanghai but is now for the whole country. It is the first step to try and reduce the amount of waste people consume and to encourage recycling.

02

How you first learnt about it

•Step one

• Step two

• Step three

Example :

Actually I didn't really know about it until about two years ago. I stumbled across  偶然发现 an article which said they would be introducing some strict regulations in order to tackle waste and pollution issues. It really triggered my curiosity 引起好奇心 and I searched for more information about it online and even had some  热烈探讨 with my father about it.  Now I have a much better understanding of it.

03

Who benefit from it

Example one:

I think everyone can benefit a lot from classifying waste. It can help us create a greener cleaner city. At the same time, it teaches us how to save money and how to recycle. Meanwhile, I think this law protects garbage collectors as they no longer have to do all the sorting and organising.

Example two:

I think firework prohibition is beneficial for everyone. It can create a very peaceful night for people to sleep instead of disturbing by the loud booms. At the same time, it also pushes firework factories to renovate and update their products with high technology. To some extent, it can help them win more customers with more incomes.

04

How you feel about it

Example one:

Even though banning fireworks is very practical when it comes to protecting the environment, there are some drawbacks to not allowing them. Like during festivals, Chinese people like to watch firework shows as it is a sign of celebration and joy.

Example two:

Even though some people complain a lot about the waste classification law because they think it is very time-consuming and energy-consuming, I still think it is a very meaningful law and we should obey it to save the planet. Because of human behavior, there is rubbish everywhere which has a knock on effect 连锁反应 on wildlife and nature. Animals and sea creatures are ingesting 咽下 plastic on a daily basis when they are searching for food and as a result many die.  It is heartbreaking and if this law helps stop that happen, I think it is a worthwhile law.
